Jenny, de 8 anos, leva uma vida solitaria, mas imaginativa, rodeada por bonecos baseados nos trabalhos de seu pai artista. Quando sua mãe morre tragicamente em um atropelamento e seu avô pede sua guarda, os bonecos e outros personagens assustadores começam a criar vida. A princípio, Jenny é a única pessoa que acreditam que eles são reais, colocando a vida de todos em perigo.
