Cristovam sai do interior do Brasil em busca de melhores condições de trabalho no sul. Mas o contraste cultural e étnico da nova morada em relação à sua terra natal provoca no vaqueiro um processo de solidão e perda de identidade. O ambiente tradicionalista, conservador e violento o distancia da própria realidade. Sem saída, em um processo espiritual, ele renasce para enfrentar o presente.
